How World Heritage bid breathes new life into a Chinese village

​A mining workshop dating back about 8,800 to 8,900 years has been unearthed in southeastern Türkiye, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said on Tuesday.

For Canadian artist Philip Read, the eastern Chinese city of Jingdezhen is not just a place to work, but a muse that has held his heart for over 30 years.

The exhibition titled "A Nation in Treasures: Selected Masterpieces Marking the Centenary of the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum" is being held at the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, northeast China, on August 11, 2026.

At the Sanxingdui Museum's Cultural Relic Conservation and Restoration Center, seeing newly unveiled artifacts is only the first step. Visitors can now also witness the entire process of cleaning, preservation, and restoration carried out by the conservators.

The Niuheliang national archaeological relic site park was built on the Niuheliang site, a large-scale prehistoric ritual and burial complex featuring the temple of the goddess, altars and stone tombs.
