Forum connects ancient wisdom with AI technology

An AI-powered virtual Confucius took the spotlight at the opening of the 2026 Quzhou Confucianism Forum on Sunday in Quzhou, Zhejiang province. The interactive digital experience brought ancient philosophy to life for the event's milestone 20th anniversary. 

Engaging directly with young audiences from a digital screen, the virtual sage translated complex doctrines into accessible, everyday language, while an innovative AI presentation titled "The Boundless Charm of Rituals" further demystified traditional etiquette for the captivated crowd.

Beyond the technological highlights, this event convened prominent scholars to examine how classical philosophy can offer practical solutions for modern social governance, urban development, and international dialogue. 

Quzhou has spent the past two decades actively bringing Confucian philosophy out of textbooks and into daily life. The city has woven these values into the community by introducing recitations of "The Analects" in schools, hosting traditional enlightenment ceremonies in local neighborhoods, and launching overseas cultural exchanges to share the story of Southern Confucian culture with the world.

Over the last 20 years, the Quzhou Confucianism Forum has evolved from a local academic seminar into a premier national platform for cultural exchange. Its success lies in turning the concept of "reverence and courtesy" into concrete actions for city governance and cultural growth. 

According to the event organizer, Quzhou plans to push these achievements even further into classrooms, communities, historic districts, and international stages, ensuring that Confucian culture remains a living, breathing part of modern society.
